Abstract: To improve the regenerative braking energy recovery efficiency and balance the performance difference of the individual battery in a power battery pack, a voltage variable charging structure for an in-wheel motor is designed based on BMS, and an in-depth study is done in regard to the voltage variable charging control strategy. First, a voltage variable charging structure for an in-wheel motor is proposed based on BMS and the working principle of its corresponding control method are introduced. Second, the control law of regenerative braking system for an in-wheel motor is obtained based on the analysis of a theoretical model. Then, the least square method is used to design the control algorithm of charging voltage acquisition, and its fitting accuracy is verified by the bench experiment. Finally, simulation test of anti-locked braking control is conducted via the software of Matlab/Simulink under the different braking conditions. The effectiveness of the proposed control method is verified by simulation results.
