Abstract: The deployment of the hoop truss deployable antenna involves complex dynamics problems, and the research on the deployment is helpful to the design, development and optimization of the antenna. Considering the flexible deformation of the truss structure and the variable topology of the cable-net structure during the deployment, the dynamic model of the hoop truss deployable antenna is established. Firstly, the beam element of the absolute node coordinate formulation is used to model the external truss structure, and then a transition function is introduced to describe the transition of the cable segment from relaxation to tension, finally, the dynamic equation of hoop truss deployable antenna is established. The simulation results show that the method can effectively analyze the deployment of the antenna, and the flexible deformation of the truss structure under the tension of the internal cable net has a significant impact on the driving force and deployment velocity.
