Nonlinear Resonance and Its Calculations and Applications

Abstract: The definition of nonlinear resonance and its calculation methods is presented through summarizing some of the current research findings for nonlinear dynamic systems. Based on the research findings in the field of nonlinear dynamics on aero-engine's rotor system, the investigation process for resolving specific engineering problems is given through practical calculation examples such as the VC resonance of a ball bearing-rotor system, the sub-harmonic resonance of Duffing system, the resonances of rotor systems with crack fault or rub-impact, and the combination resonances of a dual-rotor system. Finally, the selection method for optimizing the operating frequency or operating point of nonlinear vibration systems is proposed. The approach provides specific path for the design of structure parameters and fault diagnosis of nonlinear dynamic systems, particularly for the complex nonlinear rotor systems.
