Abstract: In order to ensure the durability test of the vehicle component reflects service loads actually and the compression load signal is effective, a method of editing the load signal of vehicle components based on short time Fourier transform is proposed. The accumulative power spectral density of the original load signal is obtained by short-time Fourier transform. The accumulative power spectral density is used to identify and extract the damage parts from the original load signal, and a compression load signal is created. Based on the load signal of the engine mount, this method and the damage retention method are applied to edit the load signal. The results show that, the compression load signal based on short-time Fourier transform with a shorter length of time contain almost same damage of the original load signal, and it has similar statistical parameters including mean value, root mean square and kurtosis as well as the amplitude domain of the original load signal. The engine mount bench iteration test is established by using the compression load signal, and the effectiveness of the method is verified.
