Abstract: The simulation model of the fluid domain and solid domain was established by means of bidirectional fluid-solid coupling to investigate the conduction efficiency reducing phenomenon in the elbow, whose dynamic characteristics change with the variation of the external excitation on the tunnel boring machine (TBM) during the service process. The stress solution of the elbow solved by the finite element method (FEM) has good consistency with the experimental results. Both of the influence of the foundation vibration parameters and the structural parameters of the elbow on the dynamic characteristics are researched. It is indicated that bidirectional fluid-solid coupling method can be present the dynamic characteristics of the elbow under strong vibration service condition more clearly, and some guidance to the design and selection of the elbow can be provided.
