Research and Application of Health Management Method of Large Roller Coaster

Abstract

Abstract: The large roller coaster is more and more common and popular in tourist sights and amusement parks. Meanwhile, the amusement ride injuries are happened sometimes. In order to reduce the incidence of injuries and increase the reliability of amusement rides, there should be a practical and feasible means. Recently, our research group has proposed the health management theory of large mechanical system which is particularly suited to the total health management of large roller coaster. In this paper, we researched the application of the health management and take the large coaster as an example. The concept, procedure and detailed plan of the health management of large roller coaster is proposed. According to the characteristics of large roller coaster, the health management indicator system is developed. The major failure modes, health indicators and detection techs are introduced. The health assessment method and health recover method are proposed and be applied in a few examples. Finally, the key requirements for the further development of the health management methods of large roller coaster are summarized. This investigation shows that this technology can ensure the large roller coaster operation efficiently, safety and reliability, and it is also useful for the management of similar facilities.
