Abstract:

:The influence of the laying angle on the first two order acoustic radiation mode’s amplitudes and radiation sound powers of laminated composite plates are studied. The layer-wise finite element model is imposed to determine the relation the laying angle and velocity distributions of laminated composite plates. Based on the acoustic radiation mode’s theory, a twelve-layer fixed boundary laminated plate is used as an example, radiation mode’s number, the effects of symmetrical laying, one-way laying, and the location of exciting force on the first two orders acoustic radiation mode’s amplitude and sound power of the laminated composite plates are then discussed. The numerical simulations results show that it is found that under the same laying angle, the maximum sound power of the symmetrical laying of laminated plate is less than the value of one-way laying angle of laminated plate. In addition, at low frequency the main contribution to the total sound power is the first two order radiation modes. A sixteen layer zero degree fixed boundary laminated plate is used as an example In the experiment the first two order acoustic radiation mode’s amplitudes and total radiation sound power of the plate are measured.
