Abstract: On the basis of introducing the high effective double-electrode gas metal arc welding(DE-GMAW) procedure, used decoupling control system for the high-speed DE-GMAW test, measured the base metal’s heat input of DE-GMAW, analyzed the technology and mechanism of DE-GMAW, and improved the DE-GMAW technology, further studied the mixed gas DE-GMAW and dripping transition behavior, and developed single power supply DE-GMAW. The results show that, using decoupling control system makes DE-GMAW welding process better stability, higher accuracy and faster response speed; bypass shunt is the key to realize the high efficiency welding and reduce the base metal’s heat input; Using mixed gas can improve the stability of DE-GMAW, single power supply DE-GMAW formatted good weld and reduced the equipment cost.
