Abstract: Study of on-line monitoring of oil lubricated rolling bearing and performance degradation with electrostatic sensing method. Electrostatic monitoring is a new method for rolling bearing with self-made wear-site sensor (WSS) on rolling bearing accelerated life testing rig. With the analysis of charge generating process induced by tribological activity, the experiments are carried out to collect the electrostatic signals. Then feature extraction of the electrostatic signals is taken for rolling bearing performance degradation assessment, compared with the vibration signals and the temperature signals. The study result shows that the wear-site electrostatic sensor technology can be used to realize the on-line monitoring of lubricated oil rolling bearing performance degradation, which is an essential part of state monitoring and fault diagnosis for mechanical system and lays a foundation for the commercialization of the instrument.
